Before the BOURNE franchise of amnesiac espionage where a man without any memory gathers info along the way, trying not to be killed while investigating who's trying to kill him, and why, there was Larry Cohen's CORONET BLUE from1967 filled with that decade's bright colors, groovy sounds, creative camera angles and a beatnik coffee shop...

Starring Frank Converse, who only remembers the strange title, Coronet Blue, upon waking up from a blackout caused by (what we see) being knocked-out and thrown into the ocean: yet the pilot's outright stolen by ingenue Susan Hamphire, a classy British actress playing a classy American rich girl who makes such a worthy love interest and helpful partner, she's missed for the rest of the series since, after all, CORONET BLUE was a one-man show and yet, never as solid as this pilot... Hampshire's absence being the sole reason why.
