A secret since her great-looking boyfriend William Wellman Jr. has too much pride to want/need anyone's help...</p><p></p><p>Well that's the plot, with hardly any urgency except a quick breakup as a local jerk eyes the girl while a sexy scheming cougar nabs the guy — plus there's a water-skiing bully and a few 11th hour thugs... </p><p>But with girl-next-door b-starlet Mary Mitchel as O'Hara's flirtatious, junk-food consuming friend and future iconic bombshell Ra<span><span>quel</span></span> Welch initially wearing geeky glasses, progressively revealing her perfect body while (for reasons unexplained) jotting notes about the main character's affably attractive sidekick James Stacy, A SWINGIN' SUMMER is more about the good times than those attempting to ruin them... A fairly decent time-filler balanced between the glossy Frankie/Annette flicks and that, despite the misleading title, came out right before hippies were too damn hip for this kind of lightweight, old fashioned (even then) entertainment.<br></p><p><span></span></p>

All this between the main plot of a nuclear submarine wherein one of the crew members is a robotic spy, and that's basically the plot of each episode: to find the sole android that will cause havoc unless stopped on time, making this series go well BEYOND science-fiction and into the realm of mystery... WHO'S THE BOT? would have been a more befitting... and in later episodes range from professional football teams to cheesy rock bands. <br></p><p><span></span></p>

A shame since the rudimentary aura is spooky enough, making this CURSE a let-down of ungodly proportions... but the ladies are great to look at. It's a b-movie after all. <br></p><p><span></span></p>

The wise shaman raises too many vague questions that needed answering through action instead of dialogue...</p><p>What should've been a more terrorizing journey becomes predictably doomed in that "Don't mess with nature" fashion. Liken to the anticipation of KING KONG, with men exploiting the unknown wilds, if that had played as cautiously there wouldn't be any story at all: Making SNOWMAN a kind of half-adventure relying more on intermittent suspense than a revealing payoff. Ultimately, ABOMINABLE wields a hoarse roar. </p><p><span></span></p>

Here's
 proof that the term "Cougar" wasn't invented to mean what it does now, 
back in the 1983 television movie when Joan Collins, famously considered the iconic DYNASTY 
Cougar i.e. seducer of younger men, describes how she sees Jon-Erik 
Hexum's would-be model, who she'd talked into going from a manly Texas rancher to a New York model...<br>
<br>
"A cougar," she cries out in victorious delight, describing what she plans to eventually make of him, "ready to 
pounce!"<br>
<br>
And also dated is when Hexum's Tyler Burnett complains about 
gay hairdressers when Collins, as successful agent Kay Dillon, points out that they
 go with the show-biz territory: one that Hexum is able to 
realistically combat, and with enough reluctance to not seem awkward that 
such a perfect-looking guy wouldn't have considered modelling in the 
first place: and he'd soon meet a cool, unpretentious gay guy that'd become his best friend...<br>

That being the just-left-TAXI Jeff Conaway as a has-been model roommate for 
Shakespearean-delivered advice while hitting auditions and strategic 
disco nightspots. But MAKING fails with another hard if impossible device to
 grasp (or recover from): That Hexum, star of the series VOYAGERS and 
soon cast in COVER-UP before his accidental death, would fall 
so pathetically hard for Joan: The rest of the Movie-of-the-Week melts 
into a sappy Lifestyle Channel romance, in reverse...<br>

Here
 it's a guy that... despite quickly hitting it off with gorgeous 
girl-next-door Tamara Stafford (the next year's scream queen in THE 
HILLS HAVE EYES PART II) trades sappy, love-crushed seats in a role 
usually written for the ingenue: "Turned around," Joan says, "with an 
accent on you men!" And in that, it would have given the actress an 
interesting performance rather than Joan simply floating down river 
while Hexum, by wielding his laidback, humble persona, keeps from

But it's not all that bad: the overall vibe is lean and edgy, and there are terrific moments when Jack and Nancy hang out, night and day, discussing an upcoming heist, and possible murder. But Jack spends too much time with his old-timer friend played by veteran actor Van Heflin... so overly (and quickly) helpful to Jack's plight... he hardly has any obstacles in his way, or rungs to climb, or corners to paint himself out of.<br />

Sears</a> rushes through what should be more fleshed-out, like a stint at Folsom using stock footage, but the death row inmate's eclectic (narrated) crimes on the outside is what matters. Too bad the 11th hour mysteriously-shot scenes of a Lover's Lane Killer, who may or may not be our likeable yet cursed, no-good loser, only adds to the now too-obvious agenda to get the real guy (who'd die five years later in 1960) from the gas chamber. Basically, CELL 2455, DEATH ROW is a better action-packed Film Noir than biopic melodrama. </p><span></span>
