What could have been Kevin Bacon's COCKTAIL (or renamed
The Wolf of Ten-Speed) is actually pretty decent...
Bacon
as a New York City Wall Street broker who loses everything in one shot,
and ends up a 10-speed messenger: swerving in and out of traffic with
ease. Side characters include Jami Gertz and Paul Rodriquez, not just
props but with their own important stories within. But who really shines
is Rudy (THE DRIVER) Ramos as a villainous drug dealer using the riders
as runners, including Lawrence (then Larry) Fishburne and Gertz
herself, who winds up the damsel Bacon must eventually save: all the
while trying for an 11th hour comeback in his old profession.
