| Lovely young genuine actress Pamela Tiffin in THE PLEASURE SEEKERS Year: 1964 |
Described as centering on "three American lovelies in Madrid," when in fact, first-billed Ann-Margret is merely a sporadic songbird as the main story belongs to buried lead Carol Lynley. And while Ann and Carol are in fact quite beautiful, the new girl in town is... well... beyond beautiful, and then some!

James Cagney's ONE, TWO, THREE daughter Pamela Tiffin's Susie Higgins is the Alice who takes us into Wonderland, although the white (blonde) rabbit is Lynley's world-weary editor, Maggie, crazy in love with her old, rich, married boss, Brian Keith. In fact all three young ladies, in Spain sharing an apartment to discover a new world of love instead of misery, find themselves eventually dug into various holes with no way out... this is beginning to sound like a drama...
Well any kind of soap opera gets that way, but overall THE PLEASURE SEEKERS is a comedy-musical but only when Margret sings (yet for a living, not to move the story)...
Meanwhile, Lynley takes the heartbreak soapy realm yet Tiffin steals the show, constantly throwing back quick-witted lines with her co-stars while trying to outwit womanizing heartthrob Anthony Franciosa as an infamous rich playboy, as SEEKERS treats casual sex in a surprisingly casual manner for the time, it isn't very, how to put it exactly as progressive it tries to be... for the female sex, that is. Truth be told, sometimes they'd make female characters progressive just so the men have more of an obstacle to conquer — that they conquer just the same in what's more a Euro-set BEST OF EVERYTHING that remake of THREE COINS IN A FOUNTAIN.
